Our Impact
We are here not for income, but for outcome
We are 100% volunteer run, leaving every penny for the fight against childhood cancer. We are growing everyday, and with the support of our generous donors, we have accomplished so much. Look at what we have done, and what we still need to do – join us!
We have joined forces with other family foundations to fund millions of dollars in childhood cancer research.
We are dedicated supporters of the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital where Austin received the majority of his care. It is an amazing facility with an incredible staff. They are active in research and superior patient care. We have donated $50,000 to the pediatric oncology department and hold an annual toy drive for their child life department that brings in thousands of dollars in merchandise to help brighten their patient’s day.
We continue to discuss potential research and trials that we can be a part of and financially support.
We watched, over the course of 16 months, as cancer robbed our son of his physical abilities. It is heartbreaking to hear your son say he wishes he could run again. At the time we would’ve loved the opportunity to take our son to a playground where he could do some of the same things his peers were doing and really feel free! And no matter the cause of a child’s physical limitations, giving them the ability to participate alongside their peers is priceless.
The inclusive playground design does just that! This is why we are bringing our community the Austin Smith Inclusive Playground. Where EVERYONE can be a SUPERHERO.
Our BIG future goal……Camp Austin
The idea for camp Austin is an escape and or sanctuary for children and their families to visit and leave the worries of cancer behind. The goal being to help rejuvenate families, mind, body, and spirit. This is a BIG dream with so many possibilities. We can’t wait to see it come to life!
This is just the tip of the iceberg…..we have some amazing dreams and goals for the future, some small, some monumental! Stay tuned!
